My trusty Berghaus Paclite has finally given up the ghost after many years.
Any recommendations for a quality MTB waterproof please that can pack up small?

I think GoreTex has brought out their "Active" fabric which is more durable than Paclite. I picked up a Berghaus jacked in this material for about £90 new in a sale. Might be worth looking into.

I tend to stick to montane or Madison these days, both well priced, but Madison usually edges it due to their awesome warranty.
