What do people recommend? Im liking the look of the gore alp-x troos and the craft active rain troos. Looking to sling them on over shorts or if cold tights.

Anyone got experience of either clothing? Do they work?

Dunno, but make sure they're either cheap, or have really good seams in the crotch area.

I ripped the arse out of my waterproofs yesterday in the Peaks when the (worn) chain slipped on the cassette going up hill. As I tried to reverse-vault over the back of the saddle, the nose caught in the trousers and opened them up from knee to knee.

Luckily they were only £12.99 specials from Aldi.

Incidentally, I would buy these again, but would gaffer tape over the inside leg seams.

Looks like I'm back to the old golf waterproof strides for now!

Altura Attack (X) Waterproof trousers are good.

Good fit with articulated knees, comfortable on. Almost look like regular trousers.
I wear them all the time for commuting in the winter.
My current pair is over 2 years old and still going strong. And surprising the arse / crotch is still fine.

Why bother, skin's waterproof enough.
Just get something that'll keep youwarm when wet.
