I've been Corresponding with a chap who's email says he's
"Quinton Burke"
osburn88890@gmail.com
I initially found his email strange as he was answering the wanted and by saying "I have the item you require" which seemed a little copy and paste ready and reminded me of the scams you always get on Gumtree.
Long story short after asking for way too much money I offered him half which he accepted with no fuss. Then when asked for his paypal address he said he wanted paying in iTunes cards!
Please be careful of there, I would imagine he will respond to a few wanted ads.
If it seems too good and all that..
Also one has to wonder why you'd engage someone who is selling something
in the first place.for way too much money
Was it someone on here, or somewhere else?
They were definitely from stw as others have received messages.
I don't want to have a drawn out discussion, just to warn people before they start dishing out gift vouchers.
He has responded to my wanted add. We haven't got around to how to pay yet and reading this I don't think I will bother!

[Moderator] Definitely a scammer and has been banned from the Forum. Please do use the 'report post' function to alert us to anything suspicious. Thanks.
Just heard from stw moderator, he's been banned. Not that that will stop him replying to wanted ads.
He's been emailing me from a wanted thread I placed.
He wanted iTunes card as payment. I knew it was a scam from the email heading.
Yeah replied to my wanted too, seemed unlikely based on what I wanted and txt of his email, 30secs googling and I then deleted the mail.
Hope nobody gets drawn in too far,...
I guess we need to start using the internal message system more rather than putting up our email addresses.
That way the mods can ban them and they don't have our email address.
I bet they sell our email address too. I'm always winning an african lottery Ive never entered and I've lost so many rich uncles I've lost count.
just to warn people before they start dishing out gift vouchers
Would anybody actually do that though?
I know if somebody asked me for an iTunes card as payment I would tell them where to go even if everything seemed genuine ๐
Somebody must or they wouldn't bother it's just a case of sending out enough emails.
I've had this with STW and other for sale outlets over the years.
Typically you can string them along a bit because their replies are generic and rarely mention the item you want / are selling.
