FFS you have expectation of others, demanding the foresight of the gods, that you fail in yourself. A bit of self flagellation is in order for you.
Problem is what you in your mind think guaranteed means is not what it actually means in the outside world. Rather like fully insured or fully guaranteed - it doesnt exist. Known as small print.
WARNING OP TOSSER
My cousin has been told today that he may have 2-3 months to live.
You poor thing - get a grip!
Anyone for Octoporn?
What would RealMan do..?
Op go back to UK bike store website read the page titled delivery and realise that they clearly state next day delivery subject to ordering prior to 330pm and the item being in stock, they also clearly state that they do try to keep site upto date with stock levels ( and by implication sometimes will fail to indicate out of stock). If you placed an order with them you agreed to the t&c's offerd. Their delivery terms are common to most retailers. Well done for bad mouthing a decent business on FALSE grounds, you are a fool.
UK Bikestore postage rates
Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Post £1.00
Interlink EP1 Next Working Day £4.99
Royal Mail Special Del 1pm £6.84
Royal Mail Special Saturday Delivery £9.08
RMSD Next Day Before 9am £15.06
ANC/Fedex Saturday Delivery £15.32
If you wanted Saturday delivery it would have cost you £9.08 or more.
Always had good service from them so no warning needed IMHO. So you ordered stuff the weekend of massive disruption due to snow and expect no problems - get real.
100?
Is it just me but does the OP not sell an awful lot of high end bikes and kit. On a wage of £7 per hour that's quite impressive. How do you manage to buy in all of that 'stock'?
Ease up ladies. He ain't trying to say he's the biggest victim ever, he's just pissed off that he paid for a service that he didn't receive.
We've all been there, he just needed his focus redirecting. You've done that, he don't need abusing for it even if there are dieing children in the world.
Problem is what you in your mind think guaranteed means is not what it actually means in the outside world. Rather like fully insured or fully guaranteed - it doesnt exist. Known as small print
Indeed, you pay for a guaranteed service. The plane delivering your bit crashes, so the item doesn't turn up. Your service is still guaranteed.
If you buy a TV it's guaranteed if it works or not. A guarantee can't cover something 'happening'.
Edit, it is annoying though.
He has nothing to be pissed off about.
Clearly hasn't paid the right postage.
Clearly didn't factor for weather related delays.
Fails to grasp fundamental basics of interacting with other humans in a calm and civil manner.
No sympathy forthcoming from me.

Surely not on STW....
What would RealMan do..?
Deny everything and then report anybody who dare suggest he was a crooked scumbag? then wait for the rules to be changed so he can get back to selling without having his ad spoilt?
Wonder how long this will last.........
Thanks for the heads up OP, not gonna jump on this bandwagon!
I served with Dave Kirk in 'Nam, he'd take a bullet for anyone of you.
A "sir name" is not an actual thing by the way.
I served with Dave Kirk in 'Nam, he'd take a bullet for anyone of you.
You just couldn't make this thread up.....
Anyone suggesting that they wouldn't be annoyed at paying for a service and not receiving it, is full of crap.
There are ways of dealing with things though and this is not an example of one of those ways. I would imagine the reason they didn't offer any customer service was that he probably spoke to them in a way, similar to the attitude in the original post.
Allthepies.... Very funny, I genuinely laughed out loud at that.
There's is some diabolical spelling on this thread.
I use UK bike store often, they are always excellent.
Bit of a storm in a tea cup this. One wonders why you might post this thread in the first place given the STW sympathy edict regarding such matters, eg you'll find it between shit and syphilus in the dictionary if your looking for it. 🙂
OP before shouting your mouth off have you actually checked the Royal Mail site?
Special Delivery A refund of your Special Delivery™ fee/postage if your item arrives later than the due time of delivery. Claims must be submitted within 14 days of posting. For Special Delivery™ Next Day, additional compensation of £5 if the item is delivered more than 24 hours (Mon-Fri) after the guaranteed time. Or an additional £10 if delivered 7 or more working days (Mon-Fri) after the guaranteed time. Evidence of posting is required. If the sender is claiming they must apply within 3 months of posting. If the recipient is claiming they must apply within 1 month of receipt.
That would indicate that as the recipient you can also claim. Yes you should have to but did you politely ask for details so you could claim it back? Also IF you did pay for next day then you should make an extra £5 in compensation. I think this, along with what is left of the £7 refund after you forward on the bearing to the new owner should be sent to either the buyer of your bike or a charity.
You really need to take a look at how you act. Yes you should get your postage back but I see you've been posting this all over the internet. All over £7 and all you are really out of pocket is a couple of £ it's going to cost you to forward the bearing.
+ something is fishy about your claim of £7 for staurday delivery. The cheapest it could have been is £9.78: http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/business-delivery-options-uk/special-delivery-next-day/prices
and where abouts were you getting it delivered to as there are some restrictions on next day based on location in the UK.
did you check your order status online?
I ordered some stuff from them on Monday and something wasn't available (despite being in stock on the website) so I didn't get my stuff next day, like I'd paid for. I got an email on Wednesday saying that it had been dispatched and would be delivered Thursday.
So I didn't get what I wanted but I'm not acting like I've got sand in my mangina.
Ordered on Thursday 18th , Saturday special delivery
Post has created awareness regardless of the content, so im happy with that, been shot down in flames, absolutely! i sure have, but its amazing how many strangers judge people they dont know and make up their own version of events, and people call me a bellend, well lets face it, we all are at times, and this is mine 😉 theres been plenty bellends joining in too. But you know having bought a fair amount of stuff from bike shops ive seen my fair share of mistakes with orders, just sometimes its one too many and you get fed up with it.
I have found the thread highly amusing from my perspective as you have from yours,i mean someone has a wee moan, stating fact and next minute they are lying and dragging a good companies name down! what else have we had? name calling, and yet i was accused of pot kettle black lol, what else? oh yes picking up on grammer and spelling, I fully appologise,as we all know this is the place for formal affairs, correct spelling and grammer is a must or we get banned.
Honestly, like a little pack of wolves some of you, too scared to break away from the pack,Its facinating to watch how people react and interect with each other, i never do get tired of it. To those who did speak up for me in ways, thank you, its good to know there are still nice people out there 🙂
Nuff said, i dont want to goad people on any longer, The post was to create awareness and boy did people get sucked into that regardless of the content, as an argument, yes i concede defeat but this topic died at the first post 😉
Thats all for now, till next time
The waterbending ant pic is superb! However, this:
There are ways of dealing with things though and this is not an example of one of those ways. I would imagine the reason they didn't offer any customer service was that he probably spoke to them in a way, similar to the attitude in the original post.
Is probably the most sensible thing written so far. If you want something from somebody, you are more likely to get it if you are nice. Unless we are talking about women..... in which case I believe the opposite is true.
Is Dave Kirk a laydee?
I've stopped using 'em to be fair. Too many delivery delays,

Merak - MemberThere's is some diabolical spelling on this thread.
syphilus
Chrtle 😉
Did someone mention Harry seacombe?
Jesus wept OP
Nice rant and replies, thanks to all, a v funny start to the day.
OP - as has been said by several people including myself, the way to get help is to remain calm, pleasant and ask for their help. Make them want to help you and go the extra mile.
I can tell you this hand on heart - if an arsehole customer problem is escalated to me, I will sign off action that meets our legal requirement and nothing more. Bad behaviour should never be rewarded.
I think STW now need to change the thread title to protect the innocent party - UK Bike Store.
Agree
ive always had decent service from them really.
bit ironic this thread, not read through it all, but seems to have become a great advert for ukbikestore 😀
There's something quite Jeremy Kyle about this thread.
+1a great advert for ukbikestore
I've not read through this thread either, but I've always had good service from them. They stock a lot of small parts that are otherwise hard to find, and the prices are good.
Reading this for some coffee-time amusement one thing made me smile..
(Well actually most of it did, but anyway) -
If you needed bearings you should have gone to Keasae, he never has any issues with royal mail not delivering On time ever
I ordered some Hope bearings on a friday am from him, if I got them Sat I was good for riding on sunday. Didn't expect it, but he said they should be next day. They arrived Sat 1pm. Nice one Katec bearings. Good price too.
This is on RM's website:
You can use Special Delivery™ Next Day from Monday to Friday, except bank holidays or public holidays. If you need your item sent over the weekend, you can also arrange a guaranteed Saturday Delivery available at £3.00 extra per item.
Guaranteed Saturday DeliveryPost an item on a Friday and we can guarantee next day delivery even though it's a Saturday. Saturday Guarantee costs an additional £3.00 per item at a Post Office. However, please note that whilst Special Delivery stamp prices are exempt from VAT, when purchased with a Saturday guarantee the total price becomes liable to VAT at the standard rate

Now, the OP did not indicate he made the extra £3 payment - OP can you clarify - for a saturday delivery, and the terms clearly state "next working day"?
Forget delivery, you paid how much for one bearing?!?!??!?!??
And for a bike you had sold, I would have whacked the cheapest of the cheap bearing in there and sent the frame on its merry way 😉
Just... Wow.
And OP it's 'grammar'. Now, back to the classifieds, you'll miss some trading opportunities!
Lol I'd have knocked a fiver off the price
I've had excellent customer service from UK Bike store on numerous occasions.
I had a problem with 2 different Hope AM4 discs and they got it sorted with Hope really quickly. I will continue to use them.
As a retailer I've sent lots of orders out with Royal Mail. I reckon 1 in every 10 packages sent with them is delayed by up to a week at the moment. Fortunately, when I provide customers with the tracking numbers they are usually understanding of the situation and realise it is outside of my control.
I'd be genuinely gutted if one of my customers posted a personal rant about my service under those circumstances.
I've used UK bike store plenty in the past and they've always been great. I will use them again.
chill out OP, getting ranty from the get go's not going to get you anywhere, be reasonable and polite and you may well have got a more a more helpful response
Can I just say that this is the first time that I've appeared on this thread?
