Quick lap to catch the sunset, no lights required, after a 5pm start and 7pm finish.

1st visit to Exmoor this year 👍 22 glorious miles , Periwinkle Tea Room was open in Selworthy and after a glorious 2 mile decent from the Beacon to Minehead a pint in The Old Ship Aground to finish 👌👌👌
Pretty much the perfect bike day, spent the morning at my favourite South Shropshire trails, which are pretty much always spectacular, but today they were sublime; awesome tech, drops, jumps and berms to die for. Very glad I borrowed my wife’s ebike whilst awaiting my new frame… then an after school ride with my daughter, mainly playing on jumps and features on the local trails until we lost the light. The only downside, I should have taken some better photos on a King of days 🤣
My wife got me and my son vouchers for Christmas for the kaimanawa helicopter shuttle. A teacher training day and a thought that we better get it done before the country runs out of fuel combined and we headed down on Friday. Just an amazing day . The weather was perfect and the dirt just felt amazing to ride on . The top half out in the open felt like being back in Scotland and the native forest section with its crunch under the tyres was like nothing else I've ever ridden . The fact I did it with my son made me a bit emotional at the end . If anyone is ever heading to New Zealand for a trip its well worth putting on your itinerary. ![]()

Glorious dawn raid on local trails today. A few slippery bits on the off piste in particular but mostly riding prime. Dare I say hero dirt? Really starting to gel with the new bike too, felt more confident chucking it around and carrying speed then I have before.
Between shitty weather, shitty health issues, moving house and work, this is my first mountain bike ride of 2026.
Warmth, butterflies, lambs and dry tails. Lovely.
North Third edge root from home.
Kirkhill was perfect today. Only found one wet trail.
Chips and cheese whilst waiting for the train home was a nice treat too 😋
It was about 430 , I'd already done a 32 mile tour around the Levels non electric but it was too nice an evening not to . One advantage of the E Bike 👌
Oh and I've taken off the long rattly mudguard so if the inevitable happens it's my fault 🙄
March's Everest in the bag during yesterday's work commute.

Forecast on my watch said sunny, real life said 3 degrees and fog.......but an hour later, post Mocha, the sun made it. Still a bit glum in the weald tho. Stanmer and SDW in v good nick
Up to the Golfie today. Rammed as ever on the way up but hardly see anyone when your on the trails.
Was a bit sunnyish at the bottom of the hill but a bit different conditions when you got up to the top.
Trails running as good as ever
Local trails running really well including opening up some stuff post forestry.
Beer outside in the sunshine in March! Used the Vibe eBike to get to and from the trails as my bike was in my mates garage. Very glad of the 'e' on the 200m climb home this afternoon 🙂
@ready - do you have a gpx for that, I'm due there on Thursday & could do with a break from route planning 🙂
Loop round Chatsworth, Youlgreave and Ashover today. Bit misty/overcast but trails were running brilliantly. Literally 99% of the trails were dry. Think there may even have been some dust on the fork stanchions.
Bit tired now.
Saturday afternoon ride with mates. The winter has taken it's mucky toll on my bike, amd it let me know by sharting out some rusty muddy crud mid ride. So it got a well deserved strip down and regrease today!
It was on our itinerary when we were out in January. Unfortunately the two days we had allocated were cancelled due to the storms that arrived. Two bad days in 6 weeks wasn't too bad
Good enough excuse to come back and try again
Was going to ride ebikes with a mate, but Levo is off the road due to seatpost warranty, went to shed last night and Kenevo wouldn't power up.
Fixed the Kenevo this morning - loose connection in the motor housing, washed three very dirty bikes, fitted a new spring to the Kenevo
Forgot to take any pics of just the bikes and we don't share pics of the kids online but... Ace round Sherwood today with the whole family. MiniMonkey v1.0 (7) was loving the green and some bits of blue on her newish Orbea, and MiniMonkey v2.0 (nearly 3) was giggling the whole way round and telling me how much she liked it in the WeeRide.
New pedal and play area is super cool, but was a bit too busy for MiniMonkey v1.0 so we went on the playpark instead.
Not something you often see on the South Downs, just a random turkey enjoying the sun! I hope the owner tracked it down.
Great ride on the proper bikes Sunday. My mate was thinking about selling his Stumpjumper 15 which would've meant less rides for me on my Raze but he's had a change of heart which I'm very pleased about, as much as I enjoy riding the ebikes, riding proper bikes is just a little bit better.
Trails are about as good as they get round here atm
Another day of clearing felling rubbish off trails and dog walk with mrs100th, then ride back, scouting a route that will mean I can ride to bowhill and do the trails then ride home. If it's dry next weekend I'll give it a shot. I'm not sure the golfers will be impressed when I ride through the course.

An unexpected 2-ride weekend for me. Trails were (mostly!) superb too, bonus! More than a hint of drier trails but still with the odd horrendous mud bath.
Saturday: near 30km family ride taking in canal paths and local trail centres. Arch is at the site of Carron Iron Works, formally the largest iron works in Europe in the 19th century, producing the carronade cannons (the arch is technically the Grahamston Iron Works Gate, originally made 1km or so away).
Sunday: e-MTB chilled sunset ride on Stirling/Bridge of Allan. Trails mostly running well.
@ready - do you have a gpx for that, I'm due there on Thursday & could do with a break from route planning 🙂
@Dickyboy I can send you a GPX, but I wouldn't recommend that ride at the moment. Probably 1/3rd of that ride was an absolute boring slog following a MX course that was still pretty churned up - might be nearly fun if you're on an Eeb I guess?
DM me your number and we'll sort something, although I reckon there are others in this shire that are locals with betterer loops..
Dalby solo ride first thing Saturday. Red bits, old Pace route bits and off-piste bits. Great ride out - really did felt like the first spring ride of the year given how wet/cold the last few weekends have been.
I'll send you a DM@ready - thanks, sounds like I'm better off fathoming it out on the ground so to speak, I've got an os map so I'll follow my nose & see how it goes.
Edit - I would if I could!
There's 2 official trails at Thetford that combined aren't too bad - but it's very flat & pedally - I did nearly 32miles on Saturday with only 1270ft of elevation. Brandon nearby has some more fun stuff but I don't know that area very well.
Nice moody shot @DaveyBoyWonder
Disappointed my wheel isn't central on the trail but as good as I could get whilst riding one handed, fishing around in my pocket for my phone and just aiming the camera in front of me as I rode along 😀
Similar to a few other folks experiences on Saturday - properly misty in places and blazing sunshine in others.
Hamsterely TT on Sunday - long day but fun had! Good to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones.
A weekend away in Galloway with my brother, for me. We basically rode around Cairnsmore of Carsphairn over two days, with a night at Clennoch bothy, and climbed the hill from the highpoint of the track on its western flank. Then we camped at Mabie forest and rode the red route there on Sunday. Excellent fun all round. A selection of the photos:
1) Riding up the road near Craigengillan
2) A long schlepp up onto Green Hill above Moorbrock farm
3) On the side of Green Hill, Dugland turbines in the distance
4) Clennoch Bothy, home for Friday night
Ooh, I forgot to say
"Hats off" to the young lady who'd ridden the 60-odd miles from Cockermouth to camp at Mabie, as a shakedown ride for her new Rohloff-equipped Surly Disctrucker. The idea being to see if she liked it, although she had her doubts about its weight. If you're reading this, hope the tyre stayed up 😄
Bike Park Wales for us at the weekend. Fantastic weather and trails running absolutely prime.
Highlight was on Saturday though, somehow convinced myself to do the big stepup on the Dragon's Back jump line. Biggest jump I've ever hit by quite a margin. Felt like a new level properly unlocked there 😎
It's a superbly well built but of track though- a friendly jump despite it's size!
That's me in the air
Apologies for shitness of the photo - screenshot from a compressed video

Having put my Dad's Rohloff equipped / belt drive tourer into a work stand recently I can understand the doubts.
Sun, strong wind and fierce hail showers in the local hills earlier..
