What bike rack do you use? Was thinking of going roof mounted, is the Thule the best option? I don't have a tow bar and want something that won't damage the car (mk v). Many thanks
I used bars for my MkVs when I had them.
Thule Wingbars & x3 proride 591 carriers on my MkV.
Really wish I'd went down the detachable towbar route and kept the Pendle though.
I've got a mk5 R32 .... I got a saris bones 2 and it's fine. I'm sticking a bit of inner tube Inbetween it and the boot lid to help not mark the paint and its fine. But I've only used it once. Quick and easy tho

which came off my old Golf 5 door - 58 plate
i use genuine on my mk6 look very neat and tidy
