I have now reached the stage where I have narrowed down my options to 2 E Bikes.
The two contenders are the Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 SL 625 and the Vitus E Sommet VRS.
I cannot decide which one to go for as they both have their own pros and cons as listed below.

Vitus:
Pros
- Shimano E8000 motor whcih means i ca adjust assistance levels and connect it to garmin.
- Fox suspension
- 2 kilos lighter than the cube
- Really good xt drivetrain
Cons
- No bottle cage mounts
- No monotone colour on frame
- Sram brakes which are a pain to blead
- Only got a 500wh battery

Cube:
Pros
- 600wh battery
- 38mm rockshox zeb forks
- Bottle cage mounts
- Magura m thirty brakes
- Reliable bosch motor
Cons
- 2 kilos heavier than the Vitus
- Cheap NX drivetrain
- Cube own brand dropper and rims
- £400 more expensive

If anyone has any experience with either of these bikes or knows about them and can suggest which one may be better then please leave a reply

Many thanks

I would wait until the new EP8 becomes available, the 8000 is an old motor now, so probably not the best buy for a bike you could have for a few years.

As for the cube, i think i have one, i don't really know, owned it for about 4 months and 2.5 months of that it's been away for warranty, honestly don't think i'll ever buy another cube item again, just hoping i can get my money back and buy something from a company that can actually put bikes together properly.

I would be looking for a bike that I could buy from an actual shop, it makes life a lot easier if you have any problems.I have a Vitus e sommet and its a great bike but I think there will probably be an updated version for next year so I would definitely wait until next year's bikes are released

I tried a Vitus full sus ebike twice for a month each

One had the e8000 the other the e7000

I actually preferred the e7000 as it felt more natural

I ended buying a Whyte instead as I had a local dealer and was concerned about any problems

The Vitus bikes are great value unless something goes wrong. Not sure what CRC/Wiggle are like with warranty support

I’ve an E-Sommet, absolutely love it.
Zero issues and I haven't really looked after it that well either to be honest.

I rode a Cube 140mm with the CX4 motor and did not like it. Geometry felt old - short, steep and high BB. It was powerful but heavy. My E8000 Merida is much nicer, so I'd recommend the Vitus.

I have an original 2018 e-sommet, it's very good & still works fine (though a spare now). Given the choice again, I'd have bought something from a local shop. Would have meant, I wasn't without a bike for 2 months directly after purchasing it (DOA).
Also 500WH was never enough for me, and I tend to only use Eco.

If you’re likely to be a long term owner I’d look into out of warranty motor rebuildability prospects and I’d second the comments about a localish, good dealer.
