Anyone tempted by the Vitus Rapide VR 29, currently £840 at CRC. Looks a decent XC hardtail for a amazing price. A few reviews mention it's heavier than the claimed "11.4kgs", more around the 13kgs mark. Any feedback on these?

6:2ft, 33inch inside leg, would go for an XL.

Very tidy bikes those.

It will almost certainly come with the db8 brakes

Ive got one, a medium. Rides lovely, but finding grips/bar gives wrist ache.
Need to play with set up/ buy new. Rides really nicely. Gears feel a little sloppy the deore doesnt shift as well as the GX on my other bike. Mine came with sram db8s rather than the shimano offering was concerned as dont have a good history of avid/sram but theyve been excellent so far

Toying with adding a dropper post to improve trail performance. I think mine weighs close to the correct published weight

Does the bike feel efficient and quite agile? Looking for a XC hardtail for long XC route & Susstrans route (100mile/day type riding).

My son rides and races a medium and it feels a great bike for the money, also no issues with the DB8 and unlike above our gears are quite crisp.

It isn’t the lightest, no, but it’s £840.  Edit just weighed it with a set of Amazon suitcase scales and with a cage and pedals otherwise stock with a pair of Barzos it’s 10.7kg

The shift is fine, but there is quite a bit of chain slap considering its got a clutch and the shifter has quite a lot of 'play' was a bit disappointed as most ppl seem to prefer shimano to sram, but my GX (Admittedly more like xt spec) has been perfect for years

The frame and fork are a really good base. The tyres aren't the lightest but are great for general xc use and I imagine there's some pork in the wheels but they're and easy future upgrade.

I've got one, very happy with it! May look into getting some carbon bars and a dropper for it and maybe some nicer wheels at somepoint. Definitely worth buying. The fork is ace!
