Seen a few deals on Vittoria tyres on bike tart. Has anyone got any experience of the brand for trail bike tyres? Most of the times I see them is on more xc style bikes on bike packing.com.
Would be looking at the Mazza I guess for the front and not sure for the back - Mezcal or Barzo maybe? Want toughish but not enduro heavy. Currently running a Spesh Butcher up front and a Purgatory on the back.

The barzo and mezcal are both nice tyres (for xc/trail) but would not think they are a good match for a mazza. Definitely less aggressive than a purgatory.

I use a Martello on the rear of my Aeries 9. Currently have a Magic Mary on the front.
Have run the Mota on the front of the e-bike, decent slop tyre but feels like it has a narrow window of use compared to a Magic Mary.

Decent enough tyres especially at £20 each or whatever.

I have Mazzas on my Cube Stereo.  The front is the softest compound, can't remember the exact name and a slightly harder compound on the rear.  They're pretty good if heavy, actually I put a faster Specialized Purgatory on the back because the Mazza on the rear felt like overkill especially on long forest road climbs.  I would happily buy again if they were well priced.  I'm not into spending loads on tyres.

Cheers - the Mazza I was looking at was in the trail compound - I’d read the enduro one was weighty. Ok thanks, will look at the Martello for the rear then and do a bit more research. Always a bit apprehensive of changing tyres - but my spesh ones are 4.5 years old and although they’re not bald I’m sure the rubber won’t be as sticky as it was.

Recently swapped to Mazza front (had a mota but trails no longer need it) and an Agarro rear, very similar to the Barzo but more trail centric and still good rolling.

Check out their website as they have some good spider diagram type things.

Just put a Mezcal on the front of my bike but it’s largely for heavy gravel duties rather than anything more technical. 2.25” measures about 1mm wider than the 2.2” Conti it replaced. Happy so far.

Berm Peak chap seems to like Vittoria tyres from some comments he’s made?

I ran Vittoria Martello on my Trance for a few years and found them to be very good. Plenty of grip but not too draggy.

Read a few reviews that say the trail compound is prone to punctures. Will keep looking, not in a rush - the tyres on my full suss are not fully worn out but over 4 years old so definitely past their best.

Without wishing to risk tempting fate Ive not found them any more likely to puncture then anything else.

Might give them a go then. Suppose for £50 a pair they’re worth a punt.

Just switched out from Pirelli Scorpion Enduro Ts. 1280g each but grip amazing in steep off piste sog around Scotland.  Chucked on the Barzo tyres this morning and hit a local DH trail and was surprised how much grip they had. Also how fast they were riding from the front door!

Went for a Mazza in 2.6 trail up front and a Martello in 2.4 trail for the back. Will see how they go!
