Well the German commentators on eurosport think its a bad decision.

Was VPs move a reaction to AMs? If so, it's seems harsh. Need to see the replay.

Looked like she was bumped on the bend - you always over compensate when pushed one way on a bike, hence the reason for VP leaving the lane. Ozzie should've been relegated, not VP. Clear to me.

Dirty, dirty Meares. Knows she's slower so has to win by playing rough. Travesty of a decision.

Mears elbowed and then leaned into VP. VP shoved across track and leaned back to prevent leaving track, counter the force. Mears stopped pushing and VP with no opposing force went over line. Only thing is didn't then return to the centre of the lane but stayed very much on the red line. Maybe that's what lost it for her?

I still don't like Mears being rewarded for that, best to void the race if you insist on penalising VP

gosh! unfair, i think. seems to me that the chaser has the whole track to use, that seemed deliberate on the part of am

I think VP races better from behind tbh. Here's hoping. Race two, trackstanding at the top and VP puts on a MOVE!!!

Arse! Can't be the most satisfying way of winning.

Is there a right of appeal? I'd be protesting that decision pretty hard given the chance.

Looked like Pendleton gave up, mentally broken by the decisions, the team sprint was harsh but fair, this one looked to have broken her confidence.

I reckon once she got the bolt on she should have committed straight off, but she hesitated, and gave mears the chance to recover

No! That's not fair - Meares leant on VP - she was bound to lean back or fall off.

VP has the moral high ground, Meares cheated.

Interview with Pendleton....hmmm, girl has issues with this sport doesnt she?....seems relieved (as opposed to sad) to be retiring.

VP seems glad to have retired now.Sprinting is tough though there used to be more elbow bashing than that

Issues with the sport being its bloody hard to dedicate yourself to years of punishing training ? Sacrificing having a normal life ,kids maybe and all the other stuff young people do.

A sport that's treated her very well and quite badly too, she has reasons to be angry with it.

I'd imagine at her level the dedication required is mentally high, trying to live a normal life our planning a family would be near impossible.
