It’s got to the point it’s pointless me trying to follow routing on my bike computer as I can’t see it, and distances are not that sharp.

On the road bike I’ve started wearing my day to day glasses, but this is risky off road as i only have the 1 pair

I also need to be able to use them as ‘normal’ sunglasses off the bike. Ideally for use on the bike in the winter too ie those fancy changing lense things (cake and eat it ?)

To add to the list of wants I can’t close my left eye so need something with decent wrap around but I don’t want to look a tit off the bike too!

What are the best options out there these days? Is it still Oakley ? My current ordinary sunglasses are Oakley Drop Point

I have some Oakley Flak 2.0 XL with the grey transitions lenses and a varifocal prescription (from RX Sport). I use them for running, cycling and walking and find them perfect for me. They were expensive but I have to wear glasses all the time so I bit the bullet. They don't tend to fog up either which is a bonus. They are not full wrap around though.

My usual pointer towards Goggles4U. Really inexpensive, a gazillion styles, decent quality.

I have two pairs, one clear, one tinted, varifocal, they were about £40 each in the permasale

I use the  the vari focal inserts from https://www.svedoptical.com/ work great with Oakleys and  cheaper than getting the oakley lenses glazed. Plus easy to swap out the lenses for differing colours etc. The inserts are rimless so even when using clear lenses you dont end up looking like a japanese sniper.

It’s worth giving Optilabs a call to see what they can do for you. They made some high prescription lenses in high index and the finish I wanted (brown base, blue mirrored because I’m a tart) and fitted them into some Oakley Holbrook frames for me last year. Not the full wraparound protection that you get from a pair of Oakley Sutros but at base-6 curve they offer better protection than a regular pair of specs and you won’t look too keen off the bike.

If it’s just for the bike computer there is a cheap solution. You can buy quite nice safety specs with a near vision insert (bifocal) . Not a full solution but at under £20 they might be worth a try. Or you can buy stick on bifocals to add to your existing riding glasses. Again under £20 so with a punt?

Interesting. The video on their website suggests that the lenses might end up bouncing around on rough trails though as they clip into loose looking rubber nose bridges.

Are the lenses stable in use?

And do they deliver to the UK?

I was looking into these a few weeks back and am tempted to try them. This YouTube review might give you the assurances you’re looking for regards their stability on rough trails: https://youtu.be/ImSOauZWiAQ

Thanks that's helpful. Reading the comments, they might rub on the inside of your sunglasses lenses though.

When I was looking for “shield” style prescription riding glasses, which are rare, I found these. However I never bought them so can’t offer a personal review - https://www.roka.com/products/cp-1x-prescription-sunglasses
