can anyone recommend me some decent replacement V-Brake pads for my commuter?

Cheaper is not always better- i tried some from Wilkinsons for £2.49 and they were a very hard compound and squealed like a pig.

I tend to run Shimano deore but they are about a tenner an end these days.

Kool Stop Dual Compound or Salmon. Though not exactly cheap. I might try Discobrakes instead.

Swiss stop for me not cheap but work very well
Or genuine shimano

Welcome to the world of pads that work, do not wreck your rims, last ages and stop that black gunk building up on your wheels.

expensive but long term they are cheaper
