I've got a perfectly serviceable x9 shifter but am going to use it with a double chainset and mech. Any good way to do this?
Connect the cable, set up the same?
Wind in the upper limit screw, so it can't go past the middle (outer) ring?
It's a triple shifter though which two of the gears do I set up and which do I leave out?
I just used to set the lowest gear on the shifter as the lowest on the mech. Your limit screw up top should stop it over shifting.
*I think* that the shift from middle to big ring is more suited to a double than the granny to middle. I have no idea why other than I read it on here somewhere in relation to the little switch thing that shimano use to turn triple shifters into doubles.

Will it work?
