As above, hardtail, 10 speed...a RaceFace single speed ring up front. Will it be ok?
If the ring is specifically designed for singlespeed, no. The teeth won't fit through a 10-speed chain.

The front ring just needs to be compatible with a 10 speed chain. It will retain the chain better than a ramped chainring. Definitely won't work if the chainring is for 1 1/8th BMX style chain.

I've had a quick look and I can't see a 1 1/18th raceface ring, they all seem to be 9-10-11 speed compatible, and mostly narrow-wide which would suggest they are not 1 1/8th
