Updated Debonair shaft, any good?

I remember a flurry of activity around RS relasing upgrades for older Dwbonair air shafts.
Has anyone posted a long term report? Is it worth upgrading an older style Debonair air shaft in Pikes or Lyriks?

Again tick to follow, but yes I think when it was first announced, the thread on the forum was pretty interesting.. but trying to find it again, meh!
