Has anyone tried using one of these? I refurb used bikes and I'm sick of scrubbing. I'm sold on the concept, i'm just wanting to know a good one to buy. They all seem pretty small and I'm hoping i can get one i can fit a chainset into.
I use two, and only one of them is decent, it was discarded from a work project about 10 years ago and cost a grand.. But it is pretty pgood, fill with solvent, leave for 30 mins, rinse in hot soapy water, repeat a few times, comes out looking new. The other cost 80 quid 2nd hand off ebay an old dental , and its rubbish, I just use it for final rinse.
Used one (from Aldi). Not too impressed on grease to be honest.
Tried it on a chain and cassette, and with thick congealed lube (ie finishline wet after a few weeks of use) it struggles to clean the chain and cogs. Instead I go for the other approach of using WD40 to thin the gunk down and then wipe clean.
Despite not being good for bikes, the Aldi ones are brilliant for jewelery. Brings up rings and earings etc a treat. Use white vinegar, warm water and washing up liquid.
Not sure how good industrial ultrasonic cleaners are.
Got a dishwasher? ๐
In other words, buy cheap, buy twice. Good to know. Cheers.
