OUT. I'll have a look at some of the (currently) smaller ones instead.
The lack of professionalism from the organisers is a concern. The messages are so garbled, I don't even know what the FF rule is. IMHO, Mr Parr needs a spokesman with some business acumen.

It's very telling that EWS is less hassle.

Undecided.

If (which there is no reason why I can't) I can play the system & buy a policy to be valid for the race weekend, even with their preferred choice insurer, then cancel it on the Monday morning, then that's what i'll do.

Like many others, still waiting on what sort of cover we actually need, a decent explaination as to WHY would be nice too. Rather than buy it, or piss off...

Out.

Was going to do some rounds, but I don't trust the organisers to change their minds about something else. Both issues; FF and insurance are fundemental, and they borked both announcements.

No trust.

I really wanted to race more this year but, while I was fairly ok with FF as sometimes i felt uncomfortable racing in an open face on parts of stages that were as tech as any DH stuff ive ever ridden, the insurance requirement is an extra cost for something that I dont understand the point of. And they're doing pretty bad at communicating those reasons unsurprisingly!

Shame we can't have it as good as the Euro's.

It's quite funny that- some folks are obsessed with the euro scene, "they do it in france" is all the reason they need to want it here. But Enrico Gualo came to Scotland and couldn't stop talking about the things from Scottish enduro he wants to take home. He was knocked out by the inclusivity and openness of it here.

TBH it seems like Steve sees elitism and exclusivity as something to aspire to

Out.

Full facer I've got but I'm not keen on attaching it to my camelback and switching between that and an open lid for the transitions. I may have done it though if there was a round local and I was free that weekend.

The insurance thing? Unless it was a few quid, I'm ooot.

I think if it was made clear what you had to insure and why then there would be less grumbling.

I was considering the quantocks round but seems a bit of a shambles at the moment.

Eh no. What a weird comment. In case you hadn't noticed, the Scottish Enduro Series is carrying on with open faces and no random insurance requirements. The EWS seems to be doing the same, as are lower level events. This isn't something UKGE has been forced into, it's something they've chosen to do for their own reasons.

Wish I'd asked if you'd all done any UKGE events before, but still useful figures I think.

Out-cost & extra for insurance.
rode one in 2013
Tried entering 1 in 2014 but sold out.
Won't bother this year.

Not raced any UKGE rounds before. Will be doing all + and probably National Champs this year which is going to cost a bomb in petrol (coming from Cornwall) but really looking forward to it.

Raced one round last year and loved it.

Following latest statement and consequently none-the-wiser why i need £100 worth of insurance, it's very unlikely i'll race again this year. Would have done so otherwise.

Happy to pay £100 for insurance if someone can tell me why this is needed for the series? All I can see it does is provide a very small amount of personal cover which I don't need. OUT.

Be interested to see how many of the outs have raced the series previously!
