This really is disgusting.

The executive summary:
Site owns the subdomain .gb.com
Site sells domains under .gb.com
Site gets taken over and still sells .gb.com domains
Years later original partner comes along and turns off all .gb.com domains claiming ownership.
Businesses loose email, websites, SEO and everything else related to the domain.

Someone needs very bad things doing to them.

PS the same bloke shut down fotopic.net with no fore-warning

Unfortunate for all the people it affected but if your not going to use a TLD...

To put it into perspective. It's like subletting a flat and then further down the line being told the flat is no longer available. You don't own it, and you don't rent it off the owner so what do you expect.

Well... we registered amd.gb.com way way back when and, because we have a stupid TLA name that resembles the other AMD there was no way to get a nice URL blah blah

Anyway.. we have moved it, but all our mail is still in limbo.

Still, if you sell something that people rely on then you shouldn't be a twunt about it when you have a spat with your ex-business partners.
