So i see the uberbike one has stainless bearings. Any reason to get the hope one over it.?
Quite happy with my Uberbike GXP BB, I think it has done 12 months now with one bearing changed.
Don't get the Hope one, it doesn't have cir-clips in it so after 6 months the bearings walk out of the plastic shields wear and the bearings walk out of the shell. It's still better than a lot of the alternatives where the plastic shield doesn't actually retain the bearing at all. And at least the Hope shields are a cheap spare part as long as you remember to swap them every few hundred miles.
I've not found a non-SRAM BB that actually retains the BB's in the shell, something which GXP needs for it to work as there isn't either preload or a spring/washer/grommet/spacer to take up the space on the axle.
I've fitted quite a number of gxp bb's hope and other wise and I have not got the slightest idea what your talking about Tinas
Do you have pictures ? As at the moment it sounds like you may have a cream cake and not a hope gxp bb.
Yea interested in tinas, i thought they were alloy cups?
my sram and replacement sram thats lasted 4 months doesnt have a wavey washer but all the other (hope and ub) seem to.
