In any sense of the word and yes they are tubeless - so a little tight anyhow. Now warming up in front of wood burner. Ikons are not the best for the woods I am heading for...

Well if they wont fit that bad then its likely you have bought the wrong wheel siZe.
The cold does not stop tires from fitting.

Talc is the answer; it's the best dry lubricant ever for sticky rubber. You'll kick yourself for not having known this years ago.
