[#3566075]

Need a year round setup for my anthem. I ride rooty singletrack.

Want to run a wider front tyre, not sure what to run on the rear due to mud clearence.

Thanks in advance

Panaracer Fire XC 2.1 on back, 1.95 on front. Works well for me, not really tried anything else much. Find not to run rear to hard on wet ground.

I've got a short travel full suss and a similar hardtail, and for that terrain I'd agree the Fire XCs are a good all round bet, although I also like the Maxxis crossmark (worked well front and rear but only tried one at a time). You'll only be short of grip in proper mud with either of those two.

I have the 2.1 crossmarks on at the moment. They run fast but i find get clogged up and won't shed the mud.

What about putting a high roller with a crossmark on the rear? 😮

I'd think Fire XCs were too draggy for a bike as fast as the Anthem.

I run 2.25 Rocket Rons these days and if you race they're excellent- very fast and very light. If you don't though they wear out very quick and are quite fragile, in which case front and rear 2.1 or 2.25 Nics are good.
