I mean with sealant in the tyre how do you overcome this blowing out into the gauge. My last digital one died due intake of latex.

One pinches tyre betwixt thumb and forefinger. Some give is desirable, too much give is undesirable, too little give is also undesirable.

I always put the valve at the bottom of the wheel, let a quick blast of air out to clear any latex out then measure/inflate.
