I rarely, if ever, throw tyres away. 😳

Panaracer Smoke/Darts and Dusters, Tioga FJCs, Michelin Wildgripper Sprints, Ritchey WCS ZMax, they're all there....

My garage is littered with tyres. I try and get rid of my surplus decent ones on ebay but I still have about 6 full sets not on bikes ranging from 26" slicks to 29er knobblies.

Lets not go there.......

I had a 12 ft ladder hanging from the roof. With tires hanging from one end to the other....

As no beer. In the last couple of years i have waved goodbye to the following not worn out rubber.
2bliss the captain (less than 100miles)
1 x nobby nic ust
2 x conti gravity ust - well used but still in tread
2 x ust fire xc (as for contis)
1 x 2bliss storm control sidewalls wore through from mus scraping

Running the collection down but probably still have 3 or 4 pairs spare.

I've got some smoke lites in the loft, the seminal cross country tyre circa 1993.

Skinwalls are back in fashion I might whack them on a bike and represent.

I've got a vast collection of Maxxis tyres for any use now. But mine all get used.

I seem to have 7 fat tyres knocking around in the shed. Some new and some hardly worn, at £90 a pop that's an expensive pile of rubber

I don't know exactly how many excess tyres I have, other than that it's 120 litres- that's the size of the box they fill to the brim. Not counting the dualplies, or the ones on spare wheels, obviously.

I gave away 14 tyres and a bouldering mat when I emigrated, before that there were another 6 pairs went, all decent ones really just not clean enough for Oz.

Collection of DH HR's, Minions, Swampies & Screams
Trail Minion Dual & Single, some advantages and a couple of cross makrs

I miss my collection....hopefully re-homed by now

I've just thrown all my old spares away since the crumbly casings and splitting treads would have made them dodgy to use. Realistically I was never going to choose to run 1.8 and 1.95 tyres now anyway. They weren't suitable when I arrived in Australia, and even XC racers run wider tyres nowadays.

I did use one of them briefly when I split a modern tyre. The casing was stiff and bits of the bead crumbled off going onto the rim, and some of the knobs came off in use. I only noticed the splitting treads by squeezing them and seeing all these longitudinal splits plus split outlines around each knob.

40 degree summer days in the garage is probably a bit harsher than the UK though.

The 7 fatties don't include the 4 that are currently on my bikes

Ah yes, this is an affliction I suffer as well, I seem incapable of throwing them out. My collection is (and I am chuffed I can remember this!):

2 x Maxxis Minion 2.7", dualply, super tacky with DH tubes
1 x Bontrager Big Earl 2.3
1 x Conti RaceKing 2.2
1 x Conti Vertical 2.3
1 x Kenda Nevegal 2.1
1 x Maxxis High Roller 2.35
1 x Maxxis Advantage 2.25
2 x Schwalbe Blizzard 25mm
2 x Vittoia Zaffiro 23mm
2 x Schwalbe Ultremo 23m
2 x Challenge Forte 23mm
2 x Some old road tyres from a beater I refurbed for a friend

In fact, anyone what any tyres?!?!?!

I have a problem with this too. Mostly wire beaded tyres so they take up a lot of room.
