So I've been running a 2.5 DHF/2.5 Aggressor combo since I got the bike this time last year and had been running the same combo on the previous bike but I'm starting to think the Aggressor is kinda draggy while the vague cornering in the middle lean angle of the DHF keeps catching me out.
So I'm a big fan of Vittoria tyres, have used Mezcal/Barzo combo before for XC race duties and am finding it increasingly difficult to put the idea of a Mazza/Agarro combo out of my mind as a direct replacement for the DHF/Aggressor. To be clear I have been mostly happy with the current setup but can't shake the feeling something else might have all the advantages with fewer/none of the drawbacks.
So is there any experience in the Singletrack collective of a Mazza/Agarro combo setup.? I'm thinking for general trail riding over the coming summer months rather than anything at either of the extremes of the riding spectrum. Would also be considering running the Agarro on the front with the recently snapped up cheap 2.6 Mezcal on the rear for any XC/endurance events that might happen.
Ideally I'm looking for faster rolling at the rear with maybe a bit more braking bite than the Aggressor and something that's very like the DHF at the front but without the vagueness at the gentler lean angles.
Thoughts, experiences..?
