[Closed] Turning a LH shifter into a dropper remote

Anyone done this, specifically with a KS Lev and Shimano shifters?

I don't reckon it'll be too hard to open up a shifter and remove the pawl or cut the ratchet teeth off, but...

Is the cable pull about right or do you end up having to push the thumb lever reeeealy far to operate the post?

(On a related note, if anyone wants to sell a pair or XT shifters in i-spec B flavour, email me)

Thanks HG, looks like it's a go.

So anyone, about those shifters that have suddenly increased in value....

I've done this with a shimano slx front shifter and a dremmel - works fine but I've not fitted it at I bought one of the adapter things on here that converts the original dropper remote into a thumb shifter which is a far nester and lighter solution.

Just buy a ks south paw. They're thirty quid!

The South Paw is shiny but I tought an i-spec mounted shifter would be even more unobtrusive.
