Specifically Merlins full build as here.

http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop/Bikes/Mountain+Bikes/Turner+Bikes/Turner+Flux+Custom+Build+Bike_FLUX-BIKE.htm

Done a search and seem favorable and niche enough 😉

What's the score?

superb bike although a little heavy maybe with that kit on.

However they 'pedal light' as the suspension is very efficient.

That is an 09 and some 09s have developed a crack near the taco, but Turner CS will send you a new frame if it does that, most probably.

cheapest you can get the frame is abouot £1200, so any extra £600 for all that kit, depends if you think you want it, or have kit to transfer.

How heavy do you think that build is? 27/28?

hard to say - mine is 25lbs with hope pro3 hoops, middleburn duo, masterpiece seatpost and scandium bars, sid team, maxxis ignitor lusts.

here is a mtbr page with loads of 09 builds on to compare

So maybe 27 or 28, but my hard tail is something like that and seems normal mtb weight to me, whereas my flux is light.

The frame is 6lbs, so nearly a lb more than an anthem frame. But the suspension is very efficient, a lot stiffer than the maestro version (copy) and there is no pedal bob.

Had my 09 flux for 2 years no cracks yet, not sure of weight but am running winter kit om it, nevegals 2.3 and 2.1 ust which are heavy and alu bars etc, rides really well used mine for racing, long distances, etc happy to go down anything, had a creak could not solve it spoke to turner guys they told what to do (grease bottom bearings covers creak stopped) and sent me upgraded bolts for free, had my rp23 pshed though and that made a big difference in the pro pedal settings and plusher feeling would get another if this one was to get stolen etc

That's a good deal. Mine felt right as soon as I sat on it.

Do you use propedal on your flux?? I never do - was thinking about pushing it as well - wondered if they could rip the propedal out...

I never do

Me neither. That's what the Turner site suggested...was sceptical at first but actually it does work best without imo.

That is an 09 and some 09s have developed a crack near the taco

Bloomin hope not. Excuse ignorance, but the 'taco'? Is that the bit above the BB?

Bought one of these a few weeks back when they had a 10% discount thing going - so only paid £1575!!!. Fantastic deal, whole bike for less than RRP on the frame.

Weight wise - a smidge under 27lb sans pedals. Mine is 28lb with M520 SPD pedals and a i900 droppy seatpost.

Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

PS. rides great 😉
