i seem to think you're already lurking in the turner forum on mtbr but here's the best place for your 'friend' to look there's a really sweet polished one on there which is uk based too.

I have owned a Helius FR and now a DW Turner and the suspension on the DW is way better imo.

mmm there's always been a comparison between them, i think it's a boutique bike that works thing. i've fallen for the turner trap and am well and truly sunk, if i could afford a bushel of turners then i would but i do love the gearbox bike.......
stick to my highline for now and maybe look at the new rfx when dt is happy with it.

Old FR, not the new model. Why do you think the AC is better than the Turner?

I thought the rule was that anything that TLR had was always the best. So this thread is useless really.

That really depends who's riding it... (add wink or stupid smiley face etc)

@duggie : i prefer nicolai's - that's all.

i like the build quality, their adaptability out of the box (eg my AM is 130/140/150/167mm dependant on selected shock position).
i like the custom options available.
i like their industrial strength.
i like the industrial ethos.
i like their reliability.

all points made to my pal, but he likes the spot due to the DWL and Turner's legendary customer service.

That's my Turner! I've changed the fork to a 36 float, I'll get the latest spec\weight.

Can he test ride them?

Here's mine....

[img] [/img]

Weighs just over 29lbs with 2.2" Rubber Queen UST's, Saint rear mech, and Nukeproof Ti pedals.

To my mind, it's not about Turner vs Nicolai but rather DW vs 4-Bar. Personnally I find the DW design better than the 4-Bar; if Nicolai made a DW-Link bike, I'd probably have one over the Turner for some of the reasons TLR mentions; they don't, so I ride a Turner.

Always liked your Spot heihei - nice build. I went from a HL Nic to a DW Spot too and wouldn't go back.

Sounds like Turners also to be fair. Always liked Nic's, came close a few times to getting one. But I like me Turners.

@ coogan - what custom options do Turner offer ?

TLR - Custom paint is about your lot I think, but then they are pretty well thought out as it stands. Great CUSTOMer service too (I swapped for a larger front triangle after having the bike for 3 years and they did me a crash replacement price).

I hate threads like this - got a HL 5 spot and they just make me want to update to the DWL. Not that I don't like the HL but I want a DWL - think they'd be a bit better a stand up pedalling (sprinting out of corners etc). I also like the custom orange colour they do.

I dunno what my bikes weight, couldn't really give a monkeys neither. Lets say it could weight between 27-33lbs. That'll help him out.

chunkster, whenever you like son!

I fancy some Alpine action again coogan. We will have to weigh our DW Spots though, just to be sure they work ok. Plus we have to make sure they look good in the car park. (please make sure your Spot is angled so everyone can see it).
