...looking to find a back wheel for use on the trainer only, got a disc CX bike and was wondering if I can stick a standard road rim wheel on the bike without a fitting issue.
Don't see why not. It's not as if you'll need the brake.
I have a spare Campag wheel with trainer tyre if you are local - west mids. Not worth posting - yours £10.
If it's a disc CX bike it may have an frame spacing of 135mm. Road wheels are typically 130mm. Shouldn't really be a problem but could lead to some dodgy shifting. Have a look at this.
I use a non disc wheel on the MTB - just remember dont pull the Brake with a hydraulic one DOH
All, thanks for your answers.
Sadly not in the west mids thats a very nice offer of you. Although if your near Wolves I might be able to arrange something.
Must remember not to pull the brakes!
