I've had a turbo trainer for a year or so in my second floor flat in edinburgh (old tenement type flat) which gets used once a week or so for an hour ish. Never had any complaints.
I'm considering doing some slightly longer sessions however, and maybe double it to a couple a week over winter. Is it good etiquette to knock on their door and ok it with them/ask them when is ok to train, or should I just bash on, and if they complain then deal with it then.
Don't know the neighbour by the way, hes not a 20 stone ape however so reasonably comfortable hes not going to rip my head off in a rage.
If you use one of those high density rubber mats to sit the turbo on and Dont do it over their bedroom at 3am then I'd say you are good to go.
I'd knock on the door beforehand and explain that you're going to be using an exercise bike and as your not sure if the sound will carry or not can he let you know if it disturbs him, or whether there's a time when he's gonna be out and therefore won't give a toss anyway.
