Thinking of swapping my mavic 319 rims, tubes and maxxis adventures to some No tubes alpines, no tubes sealant and racing ralphs. Also some dt swiss revos while im there.
What do you think the weight saving will be? Worth doing?
gonna be atleast a couple of hundred grammes per wheel so yeah worth doing - esp. if you need new wheels anyway
Probably an awfull lot if you're going that extream.
How much do you weigh and where do you ride, Rev's are flexy even on the road bike, not sure I'd use them offroad except on smooth courses and if I lost a lot of weight.
You could probably go tubeless with a stans kit and some new tyres and lose abotu 50-100g per wheel.
Rev's save about 25-50g over comps per wheel, alpines are 160g per wheel lighter, tubeless saves about 100g over a normal tube, so you're looking at upto 300g per wheel (more or less depending on how light or heavy the new and old tyres are).
Presonaly I don't like loseing weigh where it's comg to comprimise strength so woud probably use Arch-EX rims (or crests if you're light) and DT comps unless they're race day only wheels.
I've had one flexy wheel built with revs but several people on here have assured me if the wheel is built right it won't be flexy. Was going to go for revs on my next xc wheel.Rev's are flexy even on the road bike, not sure I'd use them offroad
in fact if you are quick you lot can buy all the remaining stock of these to remove that temptation from me
Running Rev and Stans Olympics, I'm 14 st and have had no issues using them for XC use.
What spokes would you recommend? Im using 32h and I ride xc with some fun down hill bits.
