I bought a tubeless repair kit the other day, and it came with a poker and some anchovies. I bought a couple more (because I have three trail toolkits, fight me) and these ones also come with a little round file and some rubber solution/glue.
Does anyone have experience of using rubber solution vs not? The instructions tell you to rough up the inside of the hole using the round file, apply solution, let it dry then poke in the anchovy and trim the excess - they come with a super thin little knife which is really cool for a trail kit. But if I am using sealant anyway, is this necessary?
I used to, but don't since I got the dynaplug set. Never did that waiting carry on though.
IME they're only to get you home, then repair properly with a mushroom plug.
Some do, some don’t.
Some will, some won’t.
I do and my repairs
Have lasted longer than theirs.
I slather them up and poke them in, perhaps I should wait for it to go tacky first :). Not tried going in dry (oo-er)

Once it's forced in and the sealant does its job then I just leave it. Only time I use glue is if I'm at home and have time to leave it to dry. Never seen a difference between using it or not.
I guess it depends on the size of the cut if you need a mushroom plug.
