Ok, so I'm doing a lot of short, fast road rides, love having a head down arse up riding position and just want to go fast 3 times a week for an hour or two each ride.
I'm being offered an Planet X Exocet at a good price, it fits me and feels amazing. Why shouldn't I buy it?

it's presumably quite limited in what you can do on it - no comfy longer rides/sportives/...

have you already got a road bike that you're keeping ?

I ride road about once or twice a week in summer - 25 miles or so per go
I quite like trying to beat my times but I don't see the point in changing the bike just to achieve that.

I imagine there's quite a feeling of speed with a tt bike p- they're a bit faster I guess, but also there's a barely in control feeling when you first have a go (I've done about 500 metres on one, down on the aero bars). Suspect that novelty wears off quite fast (my mate who has the tt bike as his only road bike wishes he'd bought a road frame)

Unless I was racing, and competitive, I wouldn't...are you going to be happier having 1mph higher ave speed?

YMMV.

i loved my timetrialling but due to work commitments i had to give it up so the bike just gathered dust, if you have the time to do the summer evening TT's go for it otherwise you'll be dusting and flushing cash down the bog!
