Hi Chris as far as I remember I'm geting a full trout? I can see a lot of orders for these as soon as people see me coming down the final descent in to Brechfa. Nothing quite like seeing this bright star like light from through the trees.

270g for a helmet light that high up is a bit much!! Joystick is less than a 100g

agree rofl but its 1100 lumen's, exposure now let you pibby back two joysticks, almost the same weight for nowhere the same light.

from experience of using similar sized and weighted lights in a similar position (hope vision twin and cateye triple shot) it is too heavy and too high for me to have on my helmet and ride anywhere rough.

One thing I do like about my Mk1 Joystick is it's light (as in light weight not bright) and is reasonably low down on the helmet with a fixing that if I did catch it on a branch the joystick would come out rather than pull the helmet up.

Undecided whether the baby trout would be better with a remote battery on the rear of the helmet than an all in one 3 LED higher up. OK, 4 LEDS's but the driver allows five different combinations of lumens/run times. Then again, my preference would be for a 2*LED / 700 Lumen spot on the helmet.

See's whizzy new all-in-one, makes little whining noises...
That might be a little large for a helmet light, but I can see lots of people going for it for bar mounting. That's lovely, real Ray Gun Gothic.

cheers for the feedback
I would not run it myself on the helmet much prefer the 4 led and seperate battery it was just to show it can helmet mount
it could also go on a diet a bit but the size is governed by the battery size
make a good commuter light on the lower settings and still cut the mustard for off roading .

he is a bit of fun went out last night with the helmet cam on the bars
to get some moving beamshots with the old leds in so I can compare with the new ones .

first bit is the Baby on the helmet then it is a mix and match of 6 led and 4 led after that would have cut and edited it but Am crap at that

Oooh !. 7 LEDs, even more lumens.....

Glad I waited......

Oh !, round housing. Change of design direction there then ?.

Theres another round, cylindrical light on the forum you know...

Suppose the 6 LED light is now obsolete ?.

😀

Trout.

Not sure, "and besides that is my light that is" what that means ?.

Because you were perhaps the first to post on CPF that you'd strung together some XP-Es. This gives you ownership ?.

Suppose you think more lumens = better light ? 🙄

And there was all those thinking the 6 x XPG LED light from you was the nuts and now you're telling your customers that their light is out of date before they even receive it. Never mind, you have their money now, don't you.

Marks for Marketing ?: FAIL !

However, if I want a suit made for me, I got to a tailor.

May I laugh along with you ?.

😀

Huxley555.

Excellent. Like it.

Someone out-flanks Trout, and now he scrambles to regain position.

We all know about the other thread.

If you now go to a cylindrical light housing, then you're behind the other light and no longer innovating.

I'm laughing my ass off !

CC what the **** are you on about? How is 2000 lumens out of date?

Surely there's no limit to the amount of LED's that could be used - just build the box bigger

But just how many lumens does anybody need?

Its not the amount of lumens that will we should be considering after we reach 2000! its things like weight, battery size, run times, unit size, reliability, even things like beam paterns and how to cast the trail into a better relief!

Yes, Exactly !!!!!!!

So why go to 7 LEDs then ?.

Man, if I had signed up for a 6 LED light, then seen the 7, FROM THE SAME PERSON !.

I'd not be pleased.

And theres the OP, giving all the "my light is the light". Now hes chasing the cylindrical light posted by another. Tut, tut.

He who laughs last, laughs the longest. So they say.

If you find that you're the only person laughing, then you've got problems. So they say.

CC I dont really know what planet you are coming from

OK so cutters put a 7 up board out what TF is wrong with trying one out
just so happens the darn thing is round so I am not going to put it in a flat box am I It is actually going in a Mag light for a walking the dog and spotting customers house numbers in the dark from my van light
Not that I need to justify owt to you .

Yeah.

After the massive take-up of the obselete light on here. I might well be the only person laughing. 😆

Don't shoot the messenger !.

I'm just calling it as I see it. My OPINION isn't going to sit well with some on here. But I didn't force anyone to buy a light, did I.

Oh, I see, the 7 LED set-up was only for "photographic" purposes.......

Trout.

No thats right.

But you wouldn't deny a man his opinion, would you ?.

Couldn't you have just done a 7 wide light. You know, something that fits just between the grips. Could act like a spoiler. Tilt it down and get a bit of down-force on the front end from it.

Anyway, that Ali tube doesn't look like a Maglite. It looks like the begininigs of a turned, cylindrical light.
If its for the Maglite, then why show the LEDs in a prefectly fitting ali tube ?.

CC.

you seem to to be taking a very big interest for someone who isnt vagely interested in his light.

why on earth does he have to explain everything to YOU?

Yeah, I've got time on my hands and I've posted on this thread earlier.

In fact, in the earlier days, I would recommend a trout light.

AND, I still would. Check my earlier posts and I have publicly stated that I believe that for the money, the Trout light gives a whole lot of lumens. (FFS, does anyone read the earlier posts ?, anyone, anyone)

If you're on a budget, then I cant recommend a QUOTED 2000 lumen light, for £190. Job done ! OK !.

But as I have written. If I had paid for what was supposed to be the trail scorcher of winter 09, only then seen the OP touting a 7 LED light.
Then I'd want to know whats going on.

Oh, don't you supply the batteries for said light ?....
