[Closed] troute lights... waterproof?

As it says on the tin... how waterproof are the epic and highly praised troute lights? Very interested in investing in a decent light and apart from looking for some reassurance from other forum users about spending much much more than I have before on a light, it'd be good to hear they're going to handle some rainy and muddy rides 🙂

Cheers guys

iirc a guy used them to kite surf around New Zealand.

As for IP68 + I've never seen it listed?

Exellent light,Mines had its fair share of rain on the Keswick Tuesday night rides.

No problems at all,It outshines everyone else, and is great value too!

LOoking good, very interested in the new liberator in purple.... seems like that amount of lumens and a good amount of waterproofing is going to be pretty future-proof

You see these Trout lights, do they come with a battery? Might seem a stupid question, but I can't see the info anywhere and the whole smudge thing being separate confuses me a bit.

Yes. Or you can pay an extra £50 for the 'endurance' battery option...

STW's resident battery expert - he has a website here - excellent customer service when I used him last...

Yes batteries / charger included .

Smudge does supply me with them and they are then Plastidipped before going out with a light so adding another layer of waterproofing .

Edit slow typing yet again

I too have a LL and ride with Gav....mine`s been hosed down after wet muddy rides so no worries there. You could almost drive a car with mine on full bat (it has 3 settings kindly upgraded by troutie) 😛

Disclaimer ❗

I have`nt actually tried it and would not advise anyone to 8) i was merly stating how awsomly bright it is......

Go on you know you want to 😉

So what's the difference between the led choices and what combination would be recommended?

Have a look here Phil http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/which-looks-best-here
it did leave me more confused than ever though .

Black is the straight 6 XPGs
blue is the Mixed leds . and also 200 lumens less

In what could easily end up in an all-put lumens war I think it'd have to be the 6xpgs... sorry for all the questions but do you have any idea on when the new ll will be ready? Also I couldn't spot any info on a warranty..?

Actually Trout - just mailed you - I 'think' I put myself down for the mix but would prefer the 6 XPGs - have had a moment of un-clarity as to what I asked for...

Will the new ll be mounted in the same way so it can be central on the bars? This pleases me greatly

Hi Phil, I'm the smudge they call about 😆

Trouties lights come with battery & charger if required, and I can supply extra batteries if required.

Nice picture troutie, having the light central on the bars with that bracket finishes the light off nicely.
