I'm thinking about adding a hardtail to the fleet, nothing too much , about £1k max.
I like the look of the Marlin and the XCalibre and was wondering if any one had thoughts about whether the top end Marlin was preferable to a bottom end X-Calibre.
Cheers

I bought an X-Cal for my daughter a couple of years ago. At the time the spec on the lower X-Cal was, in my eyes, better than a top Marlin. 10spd Deore Vs heavy SX. The frame was vaguely more future proof too. There both solid hardtails though. I've been really pleased with ours.

X caliber has a slightly longer racier geometry than the marlin.
