Anyone know of anywhere with L and XL Patrols available? I've had very brief gos on both but not long enough to make my mind up! I liked the feel of the XL but it may be a bit of a stretch over long distance..

Try contacting windwave, they maybe able to point you to your nearest dealer. Never heard of them doing transition demo days though. http://www.windwave.co.uk

6'1" with long legs. Please share said advice!

Edit: not necessarily a demo day, just a shop with demo bikes available, preferably somewhere south.

I asked last year and was told they have no plans for demo events but to check if any of their dealers had what I wanted available to demo.

Just under 6', not very long legs and looking for low seat tube to drop the seat for DH days.

Went Large

In theory it's 23mm longer than my old large that I rode for 4 years.

Too tube is not massive but due to steep seat tube, reach is quite long.

Size guide puts you at the top end of the large

mark88 had the same experience as me.

I therefore sent emails to every dealer within a 150mile radius, which amounted to about 4! Two came back to me and Noahs Ark in Stroud (brilliant by the way) managed to arrange what I wanted. Suffice to say there's now a large Scout in the garage ๐Ÿ˜€

Sizing puts me top of large or bottom of xl, having long legs and wanting alot of reach would mean xl for sure, seat tube is only half inch longer than my large covert, and 50mm more reach sounds about right. It's just that I'd like to have a go to be sure! A mate has a large I'd be able to borrow, just want to try an xl really, I know the large will feel great, just want to see if the xl feels even better! Will try emailing some dealers. Cheers!

Have you tried Tamed Earth? They are based in Hindhead, just on the edge of the Devils Punchbowl. I believe they were one of the first Transition dealers in the UK. They are great guys and will take you out on a demo bike around their local trails.

I have bought a couple of bikes from them now and couldn't be happier with their service.

pedals in Edinburgh have a L Scout demo, which I imagine would give a good idea of fit

I was at a demo day in Ballater last Saturday and there were Transitions there - I had a go on a Smuggler - very nice. Pretty sure they had a Patrol as well. I think the guy I spoke with was the importer so presumably they are doing other events.

A large scout in Scotland won't really give me, in the south, an idea of the sizing of an xl patrol will it?

Tamed earth also just have a large scout

I shall investigate ballater

I think Plush Hill Cycles in Church Stretton near Shrewsbury have an XL Patrol full build for sale but doubt its a demo bike.

I got my Smuggler from them, I went for an XL. I'm 6'4" but have short legs (32") and with a short stem (35mm) it feels nice even over long rides.
