Hi All

Cycling home from work last night I was nearly garroted by tape / cord that had been strung across the trail between two trees. The incident happened near Lymm Cheshire where the trail runs between two housing estates (Statham Ave and Albany Rd) just before reaching the Ranger station. I was heading from Thelwall towards Broadheath (Altringham).

The tape had been set just at head height when sat on a bike. Luckily my light picked out the line just at the last minute and I was able to duck my head. I still caught it with my helmet which yanked my head backwards and ultimately snapped the line. If I had'nt ducked I am sure it would have caught me around the face / neck area with more serious consequences.
I have reported the incident to Cheshire Police.

Stay safe

Andy.

****in numpties. Seriously, how can someone think this is even remotely funny or a good idea? What kind of twisted c*ckweasel would even consider it! Helmet mounted blades are the way forward ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Nasty. I occasionally used the cinder stretch into Altrincham when I wanted an alternative route.

Keep safe out there..!
