Right, Now the nights are drawing in im keen to get out and train a litte more than just the 2-3 rides a week. Can anyone recomend any decent books or websites covering the principals of training along with a rough guide to structuring a weekly training program. Im not so much interested in the technical side of riding, more upping my endurance and power for racing. Im not wantign to become an elite racing machine, just wanna get faster and fitter.
Joe Friel's 'The Mountain Bikers Training Bible' is very good, but assumes that you have a target you're aiming for, rather than just general improvements. I think that'll be a common theme in most books mind!

Why not just ride 4-5 times a week, eat/drink less rubbish and sleep one hour more each night?
