My favourite trails are in the Peaks or up above Hebden Bridge & Toddy (Standedge is also good for a quick blast). Weekends away, when I can get a pass, are spent in the Lake District.
All of these entail loading the bike up & travelling in the car ... the point of this post is to ask if anyone out there has details of good trails in West Yorkshire around Kirkburton, Skelmanthorpe, Shelley, Emley, Shepley, Huddersfield etc?
Ideas would be welcomed ๐
bad brains mbc do a few rides round that area.
it is a bit sparse tho.
Thanks Ton, I'll look them up. You're right though, considering the hills, there's not much more than an hours worth of continuous trail I can find.
Gotta keep searching though ๐
Storthes Hall Woods, Fulstone Woods near Shepley and plenty more across towards Hepworth and Holmfirth. A lot is unmarked woodland singletrack thats not on the map and there's a fair bit of cheek but no bother from walkers.
What sort of stuff are you after - tech, flowy, big downs?
I'm looking for a mix really - technical & singletrack. Not really craving to launch myself off big drop-offs though.
The typical stuff you find around Hope & Edale ... I know the terrain is slightly different, I'm just hoping to link-up trails from my doorstep as I'm new(ish) to the area.
