I have a battered old rigid alu frankenstein's mtb that I use pretty much exclusively for trips to town and hauling the kids round with, either in a trailer or child seat..
I've always bunged my discarded mtb tyres onto it but am kinda getting tempted to put something faster rolling on, perhaps even a dedicated tarmac tyre now that I have finally admitted that it will never see any real offroad action again..
I like the look of the balloon type tyres - hookworms, big apple etc
My one concern though is grip in the wet..
I [i]really[/i] don't want any sketchy moments when I have the kids on board..
waht do you good people recommend..?
Used Spesh nimbus a lot esp the armadillo version
Next to no flats and quick roll in 1.5
Have the 700c version on my winter hack bike and no worse in the wet that anything else
