It's all splitting off on the downhill bit innit? The CN feeds a bit rubbish, say Valvs gone over after Froomie but Bardet's in the lead at 2;30 odd..

Got ITV4 on the net, without sound. From what I can see Bardet is about 32' out front with 25K to go from a group of about 8 or so. Froome is on the decent pretty much in the group that went over the top together - albeit a bit strung out but no proper gaps.

Looking good for Bardet then, certainly as Cigar boy has sat up.

Love it, hits the climb, takes the turn at warp factor 5 then ditches his water and mitts to save weight. He wont need them at the top!

Great stuff this. It's not that long and he seems to be maintaining the gap. C'mon!

Love Voughters tweet about Bardet.

look at this dude... He put 35 seconds into the group behind using not his legs, but his balls. Chapeau.

Raised a smile from me.

Yates didn't seem to think so! He was saying he should have been using more of the road but it looked good to me (a prole).

That's only true if you are braking. No point in making the road longer if you're able to keep off the brakes.

Couple of little signs that Froome's not as strong as he was in comparison today. Poss not enough to eat but at the top of the final climb he took a while to close a small gap.

I reckon it's going to be pretty nerve wracking over the next couple of days and the time gaps to Froome will decrease.

anyone else see Froome coughing on his warm down? I'm hoping he isn't succumbing to what took Kennaugh out of the race

Nah, if he has EIA (hence the inhaler) then post-effort coughing is pretty common.

Will be interesting to see how Movistar play this. Valverde less than a minute back on Quintana, can't have too many GT podiums left in him, can't see him wanting to lose that in a play to get Quintana some time. I'm pretty sure he'll have an eye on second place too. Though if it does all go mental on the last two stages I'd expect Valverde to lose a big chunk of time.

Does it all the time. Pretty much every mountain top post stage interview has him coughing like that. As has been said, EIA.

Yep, saw that. Nothing like a good post-exercise hack.

It's those French ciggies they can be really rough, someone give him a pack of bensons and he will be better.
