looking for some big grippy cx tyres for my tourer.
any recommendations?

not sure, but i have schwalbe marathon plus 47c on now, with full guards.

What are you riding on? You'll get the slightly more knobbly Marathon Mondials in 1.75" (47c) size too. Fine for forest tracks etc.

The Cazadero is much better than the Nano on road but I find them somewhat lacking off road.
They look damn nice though!

If you want tough that come anywhere close to Marathon+, I suggest Continental Travel Contacts.
A lot of the tyres mentioned would be puncturing in one ride where I live but I used Travel Contacts for almost 2 years without a puncture.
Not exactly cross tyres but good side knobs for a bit of grip and fast rolling due to flat centre tread.
