Well after taking council from the STW massive, we went up Thursday, biked Friday in perfect weather, dry and buff trails...

There were 2 7k ish descents on the same day...

A properly grand day out in some properly grand sized mountains. More pics to follow when I can get flikr to behave...

That is the best way to ride torridon imo, most people ride out the road past the loch, but then you'd miss the coire lair descent, an that would just be rude!. Did you visit the 'tearoom' at achnashellach?.

You can't really o wrong, bruneep. Just follow the trail up from the cemetery at annat, til the fork in the trail at the lochan, head left, and your on the trail all the way to achnashellach, then it's Tarmac to coulags turn off, then all the way up and over to the start.

Then the torridon inn for real ale and real chips! ;-))))))

cheers, did the loop that uses the 2 road sections couple of weeks ago. would be keen to go back and do it without the road section.

Don't underestimate the climb up from Annat. IMHO the second half of the descent to Achnashellach is much better than the first half.
