Title says it all.....
I need a torque wrench.

Is it worth getting one that can be re-calibrated, like Park or is there a decent small one?

I have a small family of bikes that need maintenance so mainly for routine stuff....

Plenty of threads on here, in my opinion, spend as much as you can afford. You deffo get what you pay for.

I ordered one of these the other day: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/x-tools-torque-wrench-2-24n-m/rp-prod11142

I've already got at least two full sets of decent bits so just needed the wrench and I whilst I'd like an expensive re-calibratable tool, this seems to be well-regarded for the price. It's for bikes, not spacecraft.

This one comes with a full set of bits. Will do everything you need at the lower torque range (2-24NM):

I've had one for a few years and built up a few bikes with various carbon components.

No such thing as a cheap torque wrench.

Something like this:

Norbury will calibrate what ever you send them. Bloody expensive though.

Super! Thanks all.
I'll look into saving a few pennies and getting a good one...

+1 for lifeline £26 and it's higher than 4.5/5 on nearly a thousand reviews ..
Clearly unreassuringly cheap

I have a £60 BBB – supposedly a good piece of kit. I've built up my fair share of bikes over the years so have a good amount of experience. This wrench let me down badly with a £2k carbon frame. I now have the Park Tools preset which has a cam-over action; basically you can't over-tighten.

I had the Lifeline one and it eventually got refunded as faulty and sometimes wouldn't indicate it had reached torque. I now have the Superstar one that was a PSA on here a while back and it does the job fine.

I got the Superstar one when it was on offer and it's been fine. If I could afford a Norbar I would get one.

One of the best birthday presents from my girlfriend EVER!
I hope she didn't pay this much for it though.
Use it all the time and it makes me smile, sounds strange writing that down, but it does.

Norbar - end of thread

Isn't the point of these to stop you before you get there?
