Have a set belonging to a mate - planning to pull off the lowers, given them a basic clean and a relube. Only ever played with RS air forks before - anything majorly different about the process?
been a while but not that I recall - perhaps something with releasing spring tension???? good guides on SRAM website iirc
I believe thay can be tuned a little by using slightly different oil weights if you are that way inclined
He's selling the bike, so it's more to show them some love and make sure everything is in order
I had a set of 302 Tora coils on a hack bike, rode it for 150+ hours, no servicing, took the lowers off and cleaned, changed oil etc - not a mark on them.
Since that they have become "my bestest fork ever" nomination
Mine have 4 years and hundreds of miles on them. I am waiting for them to fail so I can replace them but they are still functioning perfectly with no service. The lockout is not a true lock as it just stiffens it up to the point you get minimal travel but it does the job for the commute.
I would leave out the service if there is no need, what isn’t broke etc…
Not the best fork in the world though, they feel a bit heavy and lifeless compared to a high end fork (at 4x the price).
