I don't have a problem with it at all. In fact it's got me thinking about getting another road or maybe a cx bike. 25 years ago I used to ride a lot on the road and gradually started to take shortcuts off road until I found I was hardly going on the roads at all and that's when I bought the mountain bike. Now I quite like the idea of a cx bike for mixed riding. I think I'd also do more longer rides in the winter if I had something that did a better job on the roads. I ride off road all year round but I find an hour or so in filthy wet and muddy conditions enough.

Gimme a chance, only picked it up last week. Haven't been on a road bike for 12 years so will take a little while to adjust. Have since lowered the stem about 1cm for starters.
We like the "blank canvas" theory of home decoration. Boring walls, nice pictures etc.

I agree with the OP
I don’t see why any tarmac-related branch of cycling would ever appeal to people more familiar with tearing up some sweeeet singletrack
The whole topic can be easily summed up in the look of frustrated bewilderment you get from roadies as you ride home covered in mud.
Even Fresh Goods includes roady stuff nowadays.

I'm definitely not posting pics of my roadbikes as both have flipped stems as well as quite a few spacers!

Glad I was wearing my peaked helmet on the road in that thunderstorm, helped to keep the rain out the eyes a bit 🙂

In my defence I only recently got the Roubaix and so far I'll I've done is change the wheels and fit the seatpack, pump, an 11:32 cassette, MTB rear mech and my own saddle and seatpost. The cables and stem etc. weren't my fault!
The Boardman is more or less out of the box apart from the flipped stem and the seatpack etc.
I know I'm throwing stones in a glass house here, but...holy saddlebag, Batman!

Looks comfy that - I like it.
My carbon racy road bike has:
lots of spacers
No spacer under the stem top cap
a 120mm stem
wires from the powertap ziptied all over the frame
saddle nose down
coloured tyres
ODD coloured tyres in fact
valve cap on one wheel only
turbo trainer quick release still in it
grit and muck all over it from a wet ride.
I have a saddle bag nice place to keep your tubes then again Ii have riser bars with bar ends [MTB] so what do I know or care.
Road cycling is PROPER cycling, not do a couple of miles and then go to the pub.
