I've got a week left at work, and that means a week left to buy a bike on the cheap.
I don't need a new bike. I like my hardtail a lot, but the Zesty 314 is beckoning and I feel inclined to buy it as I will save so much money. On the plus, if I don't like it, I can sell it easily and recoup my money. However (and a lot of people must have felt this), I really don't want to resent my hardtail. I will feel terribly, terribly guilty if I don't ride it as much, which would make me sad. Is this normal?

Then again, I could buy a road bike, which I don't currently have, but same again, I don't need the bike.

If I don't buy one, I have missed an opportunity, and I know I will regret it next year. I was planning to buy one on the cheap about march next year, but obviously circumstances have meant I am now leaving work now, instead of then.

So... to buy or not to buy... what would you do?

If I wanted it and could afford it then yeah I'd buy, but then I don't have any weird emotional attachments to my current bikes...

yeah, quite a big one..!

I guess I knew the response would be quite biased, perhaps that is what I wanted ๐Ÿ™‚ However, go for another mountain bike (140 travel, AM), or a roadie - something which I am not currently 'into'. With winter coming up, roadie is sensible, however I know with a Zesty I would happily hop on a plane to the alps next summer!

Good point on the saving, it's still a heck of a lot of money, but has such a large amount off.

@rob - lol? link was kinda random.
