Bike is going to single ring 34t upfront with chain device. Would you add a bash guard?

I already have a Blackspire C4 bashguard from my dual ring set up. So it would be chain device plus C4.

I would if the chain guide allows it. May as well save your chain/chainring. I've hit my bashguard a few times and was happy I had it.

But the chain would save the teeth on ring if knocked

Had a bashring on for years now. When do you actually use the big ring anyway?

Do you stand a chance of basing things?

If so then yes.

Yeah but a bash will stop the chain from breaking. Also the bash might stop the chainring from getting bent.

Exactly this. I didn't bother on my rigid bike because it's severely un-gnar. But if I singlering one of my other bikes it'll get a guard because I like riding off big steppy things and sometimes they bite.
