DH season is fast approaching and I really want to be able watch it live, last season wasn't the same just with YT highlights. I don't have Amazon Prime or Sky, and don't want them either. I'm on a phone contract that doesn't have a discounted HBO subscription as an option, are there any other options to get it without a second mortgage, or am I just going to have to suck it up?

Also, what are the options with ads like? I can't generally be doing with ad interruptions every 5 minutes these days, YouTube premium has been worth the money to me

Just went EE for broadband and the Sport TV package with TNT (via HBO) is £25. I'm sure its available without the broadband. Don't get the Sky Sports channels, that's what bumps it up. Now TV with sports, only gives you Sky Sports and that's £28 going up to £35 after 6 months.

After using a Sky HD box for the past gawdknowshowlong, using all these apps with their ads is pretty horrendous I must say. But no choice now. Good thing is, you can record on the EE TV Box and Ffwd over the ads.

Cheapest way is one of the all-in-one boxes like my brother has - £10 a month after buying the box. But I don't trust it to always be available myself.

I’d be prepared to pay £25 to see all the DH races, maybe double that, but not £150 to cover the six months at £25 a month 🙁

It's not too bad as its bundled in with my Broadband.  However it's got motorsport and motorbike racing which improves the value a lot for me.  If it was just DH I'd not be watching

I don't have Amazon Prime

I don't think I've been paying attention, but can you stream the DH and XCO via discovery+ add on in prime? or is it extra on top of that?

It was the ads that convinced me to cancel TNT, slap bang in the middle of a live CX race, always seemed to be when something exciting happened.

Worse yet they were the worst sort of demographically targeted ads for hair loss/ grey hair treatment, viagra, expensive watches, investment apps, George Clooney selling Nestle coffee etc. etc.

Final straw was when I tried to skip through the ads and got stuck in some sort of infinite loop, missed three laps of Namur 😖

I have TNT via my EE mobile contract (total £32 per month), which I got by phoning when my renewal was due. It works on the new HBO app. When TNT was on Discovery I always had duplicates of each event - one had adverts, the other didn’t, I just had to make sure I chose the right one. On HBO it looks much the same.

We used a VPN and paid the rate for countries that don't have other options, was $6.99 per month for the world cup pass for dh and xc. I was happy to pay that.

Are there 2 or more Tiz websites because the only one I can find is absolutely unusable?

It looks like a website from the 90s? The videos I tried to watch are embedded in the page and playing them launches popups galore that stop the video, or the video just constantly stops itself

So you pay £25 a month and you still get ads?  Seems bonkers.  I thought the idea of all that was that you didn't get ads?  I've never had sky or sky sports, so I'm probably being daft.  But that seems insane!

No ads costs extra. HD costs extra. 4k costs extra extra. Welcome to the brave new world of streaming!

Jeebus.  That's proper horrific.  Glad that I largely opt out of that sort of thing.  I had been thinking of biting the bullet and paying £30 per month for it, but if I have to put up with ads, then what's the point.

Yep, sounds like my experience!  Generally have to drop down to one of the 480 feeds to get something usable on Windows (Edge/Chrome/Firefox) although oddly I found that the Firesticks otherwise crappy built in Silk browser actually lets you run the better feeds full screen without too much buffering hassle.  just need to set the live feed url as the home page or it takes too long to get there.

Very interested in the VPN option, I'm happy to pay and used to pay for GCN+ (RIP) but I'm literally only interested in the MTB racing so £25 + a month for the bobby basic option with ads  is just unjustifiable for a few hour's viewing.
