[#616979]

Just looking at the box full of nice bits in the shed to build my new TI frame up which is being delivered tomorrow. Happy happy. Glanced over at my indy fab ti deluxe. Is that a hair on the seat tube. Aaarrrggghh. Cracked on both sides. Kicks box of nice bits across floor and sulks in utter disbelief of my ironic bad luck. Does the lifetime guarantee transfer over from the original owner or shall I nail it to the shed wall. Going to call tim at sideways in the morning.

Stu,
Sheldoon says I'm too heavy like him. Slightly different shapes though I think.

I'm confused, your old ti frame is broken but you've got a new one coming tomorrow?

Don't know if I would want to pester someone after buying a frame from them unless it was a shop. Shit happens I suppose. He's a nice guy though so maybe I'll text him for any suggestions.

Ooooh, that is real bad luck. It's one reason I sold my Hummer frame and bought a steel hooligan hardtail for £250. Less heartbreaking if it gets damaged and a good framebuilder would be able to weld it. Also, mine's not painted, either, just a quick squirt of matt laquer to keep the rust at bay. I do feel your pain, tho'. Hope the warranty still holds.

Doesn't it just mean that your decision to buy a new ti frame is slightly more justified now?

No, new one is a 29er. IF is/was a 26er.

Situational irony is the disparity of intention and result: when the result of an action is contrary to the desired or expected effect

It is possible to get it welded over here and fixed up.

May not be an American or Chinese welder though 😉

Called Tim at sideways. He's very helpful! I know a guy who builds custom TI exhausts for world rally cars and Dakar bikes so he's an option if IF say unlucky sunshine. He is however, not Chinese.

Swede, depends where you are, but there's a chap on our industrial estate in Coventry that welds Ti. Don't know if he's ever done bike stuff before but he's s**t hot on welding ali!

Probably be cheaper for you to get it welded here rather than pay for insured shipping back to the us If IF say nae.
